Having had the privilege of travelling extensively, I have been able to explore different cultures, hear new languages, and engage in various societies and lifestyles. In addition, my multicultural upbringing had encouraged me to learn languages and always be respectful of people regardless of their social, cultural and religious differences.

It is these experiences and values that have instilled in me a fascination for people, their lives and their stories.

This in turn fuelled my passion for journalism and the power and abilities that it holds. I enrolled at the Rhodes University Journalism and Media Studies Department, where I found myself drawn in particular to television journalism because of its immediate and lasting impact on viewers.

It is for this reason that I sought, and continue to work towards, a career in television / multimedia journalism. By virtue of its wide scope, it represents to me the ultimate medium through which I hope to communicate and give individuals a voice.
